Opportunity. Progress. Prosperity. These are three words I consider synonyms with Missouri. When I moved to Missouri I was told "The Show Me State" means Missourians sit around and wait to see what other states do before making a move. However, when I interviewed for my current position of State Director of Pesticide Safety Education (PSEP), I discovered that Missouri is a state with a vision for agriculture. MU Extension's bold goal to double our agriculture by 2030 demonstrates this foresight. (Learn more about this goal by following #2XAg2030 on social media.)

The Missouri Department of Agriculture, the Governor's office, and the General Assembly have recognized the critical role that pesticide safety education will play in strengthening Missouri's agricultural economy. Their partnership and financial support of Missouri's Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) has provided MU Extension with an imperative opportunity to update the program. This includes adding a position to the PSEP program. MU Extension is seeking an assistant PSEP to help lead this program into the future.

Missouri's PSEP program keeps producers and commercial pesticide applicators on the job by providing the mandatory training for licensing. The program is working hard to equip applicators with the tools they need to successfully apply pesticides and enjoy their work.

We are searching for someone who is excited about agriculture and has a desire to create a more engaging, effective educational program. If you know someone who might be interested and qualified for this position, you may direct them to the following job post:
