The annual Mizzou Pest Management Field Day will be Thursday July 11th at the Bradford Research and Extension Center, approximately 8 miles east of Columbia, Missouri. For the first time, attendees can pre-pay for the event by registering online at this site.

Registration will be open by 8:00 a.m. with opening comments by Dr. Bradley at 8:30. The morning will include guided wagon tours with stops that include presentations of research results by university scientists. State extension plant pathologist Dr. Mandy Bish will provide an update on tar spot of corn, management of Fusarium head blight in wheat, and the effects of environment on soybean diseases. New state extension entomologist Dr. Ivair Valmorbida will be discussing insect pest thresholds and scouting techniques.

State extension weed scientist Dr. Kevin Bradley will also have a variety of weed management topics included on the tour. Some of these topics will include results from multiple experiments focused on the application of herbicides with drones; results from deer-repellent product research; new pasture weed management options; a variety of research results and topics pertaining to the management of resistant waterhemp; and many other topics and periodic stops along the guided tour.

Lunch will be served at noon after which attendees will have the opportunity to view plots that showcase a variety of herbicide treatments and weed management programs for use in corn and soybean.

Registration for the field day will be $30.00 to cover costs associated with lunch, refreshments, and the field day tour book. This year all registration will occur online by going to this site. Please register by July 5th so that we can plan for the appropriate amount of food.

For certified crop advisors, CEU credits will be awarded.
