Eastern (American) Arborvitae 'Sudworth Gold'

There are up to 140 different types of eastern arborvitae and they are native to northern parts of North America. The variety 'Sudworth Gold' is displayed in our garden. This evergreen shrub or small tree can grow up to 25 feet tall with a distinctive pyramidal form. It gets its name from its bright yellow foliage on the tips of branches. Deer feed on the soft evergreen foliage and can strip branches quickly. "Arborvitae" means tree of life. It gets its name because of the medicinal properties of the sap, bark, and twigs.
