Southern Magnolia

Southern magnolia is an evergreen tree native to southeastern United States. It has large, dark, green leaves, and it can grow up to 90 feet in height. Southern magnolia prefers to grow on the edges of bodies of water, but can adapt to a variety of regions. In early fall, it produces fruit that contain seeds that birds and mammals eat. These animals disperse the seeds back into the ground. Southern magnolia is often grown for its wood that is used to make furniture, window blinds, and doors.
