Flowering Pear 'Cleveland Select'

'Cleveland Select' is a type of flowering pear tree that is native to China. This deciduous tree grows 25 to 35 feet tall and withstands ice and wind damage better than other flowering pear trees, such as 'Bradford.' Although it is called a pear tree it does not produce pears. However, if there is another type of flowering pear in proximity, this tree will produce small fruit. Typically it has a long lifespan of 50 years, but if grown in urban areas their lifespan drops to only about 15 years.
