Bald Cypress

Bald cypress is a fast growing tree native to the wetlands of southeastern United States. A mature tree can live for as long as 500 years and reach a height of over 100 feet. Trees are deciduous conifer, meaning it drops its leaves in the fall like maples and produces cones like pine trees. It gets its name because it appears "bald" until spring. The wood of bald cypress is resistant to water rot and makes durable outdoor furniture.
