Tulip Magnolia Tree

Tulip magnolia is native to southwest China. Shrubs or small trees reach a height of about 13 feet. Large flowers are a deep pink and cover the entire shrub before leaves appear. The silky buds form in the fall and winter. The name comes from the tulip-shape of the flowers. Fruits appear as green cone-shaped capsules that contain seeds.
