Sargent Crabapple

Sargent crabapple is native to Japan. Plants can be grown as a shrub or tree with a height of 6 to 10 feet with a larger spread. Buds appear pink, but open into very fragrant, pure white flowers. Red, half-inch fruit are produced and attract wildlife. Fruit have a bitter taste, but have been used in southeast Asia as a condiment. Sargent crabapples are resistant to many common crabapple diseases.
