Smoke Tree

Smoke tree is native to southern North America. Shrubs or small trees can reach heights of up to 30 feet. Fluffy open clusters of purple or copper flowers at the top of the plants create the illusion of rising smoke. Fruit are small fleshy structures that contains one seed. In the fall, leaf color can range from yellow to red. When leaves are crushed, they smell like a crushed orange peel.
