Oak Leaf Hydrangea
There are more than 70 species of hydrangeas. Most species are native to Asia. Oak leaf hydrangea is one of the few hydrangeas that is native to the United States. Mature height is often greater than 8 feet. Leaves are deeply lobed like leaves of oak trees. Clusters of flowers form cone-shaped panicles at the ends of branches. Flower color is white to off-white but is not affected by soil pH like some hydrangea species.
