Artemisia

Artemisia is native to North America, Asia, and Europe. There are many types of artemisia, but the cultivar in our garden is silver mound, which grows 10 to 12 inches tall. Small leaves are soft and feathery with dense white hairs covering each leaf's surface, creating a silver look. Members of the artemisia genus often have a strong scent and bitter taste. The taste is a defense mechanism to protect against hungry animals.

Artemisia plants have a mounding habit that perfectly fill empty space in a garden Artemisia is often planted for its delicate foliage.
