Paperbark Maple

Paperbark maple trees are native to central China. Trees reach a height of 20 to 30 feet. Trees have thin cinnamon-colored bark that peels away from the trunk and branches of the tree creating a flaky look and giving the tree its name. Each leaf on the paperbark maple is made up of three dark green leaflets that have rounded teeth. The fruit of the tree is a winged capsule encasing the seeds.
