Pond Cypress 'Prairie Sentinel'

Pony Cypress is native to southeastern United States. Trees are capable of growing up to 80 feet tall. It grows along swamps and shallow ponds. It is a deciduous conifer, which means it produces "cones" like pine trees, but sheds its leaves like maples. Their needles are held tight to the branches and in October turn a coppery-orange. Pond cypress wood is resistant to decay and is important in boat and greenhouse construction.
