Colored Twigs

Several tree and shrub species produce colored twigs. Colors are specific to a variety and are usually red or yellow. Often the color is visible only on young (1 to 2 years old) twigs. Our garden displays several plants with red twigs. Although the red color is usually present year round, the twigs are more visible after leaf drop.
